As a solicitor frequenting Broadmoor for the last 15 years there are a few doctors who you remember with affection, Dr Romero-Urcelay was one of them. We were often at odds but rarely in conflict. He was a doctor who did not concede much ground, was slick in oral evidence and a real expert. He brought a sense of the theatre to the Tribunal, a memorable character. An ex patient rang me to tell me of his death. He told me he felt sad to hear of Dr Romero - Urcelay’s death even if they had been mostly at odds. That speaks volumes. Rest in Peace, Kate.
