The first time I met Jose was at the awards dinner for staff at West London NHS Trust.  I was touched by Jose's genuine desire to make things better and improve things for patients and staff alike.  What made Jose different was the fantastic personality and sense of humour he brought to all of his dealings.  By the end of the evening Jose was referring to me as Vladimir - convinced that I was a double for President Putin.  At work there are some people we deal with because it is work and some people we look forward to working with because of their energy and passion.  Jose was so definitely in the second category.  My thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues - Jose was the best of people and will be sadly missed.  With my deepest condolences from Nick Atkinson and all those of us at RSM who had the privilege of working with Jose.
